Sp3 an error in updating your system has occured
Hi, I have just tried to install SP2 on SBS 2003 R2 and received the following error at the end of the installation: Service Pack 2 Setup Error An error in updating your system has occurred.
Select ‘OK’ to undo the changes that have been made.
Tony, I downloaded and installed n Lite as you said and created the folder XPSP3 on my desktop now where do I get the highlight/copy/paste all files on the disk to the XPSP3 folder?
When I clicked next twice it started and the I got a pop up that says "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application If you Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Best to wipe or nuke the HD and do a clean install of SP2. I don't know what else we can do to help folks move on. Open n Lite Click Next Hermit, I realize it should be close to the bottom in ADD/Remove Programs but it is NOT there and my specs show it IS installed.
I guess I am going to have to do a clean install as most of you have suggested.
Can anyone tell me where, or if I can find a download for SP SP 3 that I could use. You'll need to extract your drivers first though because it's unlikely they are easily available online being an XP machine unless you have them on disk somewhere..
I still have the Product Key and I don't know if it will work if I can find SP3 Do want to do a clean install with this one? If you want to go this route I'll tell you how in a few hours...it's my bedtime.
Oren, slipstream seems way to complicated for the expertise this old man has, sorry.
SAP Note 2281804 has similar instructions along with screen shots - even though it's for Lumira Server, it also applies to the BI Platform.
After that is resolved, you could try doing a repair install from the original install files (NOT through Programs and Features in Windows!
tsmith777, Can NOT take out SP3 once it has been integrated into the system because there are more updates with dependencies after SP3. Create folder on Desktop called ‘XPSP3’…highlight/copy/paste all files on XP disk to this folder 3.
You can try what Jim says but don't think it will work well?? Long ago we have begged and begged folks to upgrade to Vista or Windows 7. If you really want to do an in-place install as before you need to slipstream SP3...here's some simplified instructions for using n LITEwhich I've reduced to soley for slipstreaming SP3. Get SP3 'Checked Build (second one): Download/Windows-XP-SP3-Download-900015.
The checked version Build is Windows XP-kb936929-sp3-86-debug-enu.
